FIRS, Benue tax board on innovations, manpower devt

Makurdi—Executive Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, Tunde Fowler, has promised to deploy required resources to assist and upgrade the capacity and operations of Benue Internal Revenue Service, BIRS.

Fowler also proposed a week-long training session by FIRS for management and staff of BIRS at any location of its choice within the country, as a way of exposing the officials to all modern global tax administration practices.

According to a statement by the Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the Acting Executive Chairman of BIRS, Dennis Mernyi, FIRS’ Executive Chairman made the pledge when he received his former Assistant Director of Planning Research and Statistics and the new Acting Executive Chairman of BIRS, Mr. Terzungwe Atser in his office.
