The President of Rotary Club, Effurun district, Rotarian Gordon Duku (PHF), has said, he will continue to increase the club’s presence in the community by executing sustainable projects that will touch lives of the people.
Rotn. Duku, in his acceptance speech stated this during his investiture as the 34th President of Rotary Club Effurun, which took place at Wellington Hotel, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State.
Rotn Duku, who listed his vision for the club to include; reconnecting with the community, youth vocational training, child and maternal health care, education support, peace and conflict prevention, growing local economies amongst others, noted that, the projects are surmountable if members harness their individual and collective financial resources, goodwill, expertise and time into it.
While commending the immediate past president, Rotn Maria Okoh, for her sterling stewardship to the club, especially for setting the pace as the first female president of the club, Rotn Duku expressed his appreciation to members of the past board for the confidence reposed in him.
The immediate past President, Rotn. Maria Okoh, in her valedictory speech, noted that leadership comes with enormous challenges. She thanked members of the club for their support in ensuring that she succeeded during her tenure.
