ASABA—DELTA State Government has approved the contract for the construction of a multi-purpose lecture theatre at the Abraka campus and the contract for the completion of the Faculty of Environmental Science in Asaba campus of Delta State University, Abraka.

Briefing newsmen after the state Executive Council meeting, the State Commissioner for Information, Mr Patrick Ukah, said the  Council also approved the construction of Burutu Township Roads (Phase 111) in Burutu Local Government Area of the state.

Saying the State Executive Council commended the free  eye treatment initiated by the wife of the state governor, Dame Edit Okowa, in conjunction with the state Ministry of Health, performed free surgeries for Deltans, especially those poor rural dwellers, he said those who could not pay for such surgeries got free medical attention.
