According to them, some desperate politicians could sponsor fake army or police personnel in their desperate aim to capture power. They gave the warning at the Central Police Station, CPS, Umuahia, where they paraded a suspect, one Michael Onuoha for unlawful importation of material for military uniform.
The suspect was paraded for “conspiracy, aiding and abetting crime, unlawful procurement, importation and possession of military uniforms”.
According to them, the military materials were imported by a company, M/S U. U. Iruoha Coy. Ltd, whose director, one Uche Iruoha was said to still be in China.
“The Director is one Uche Iruoha who is still in China. He is popularly known as Urchman. The goods were brought via Group Edge in a container shipped through Maersk Line and berthed at Apapa Ports in Lagos from where it was cleared and transported to a Warehouse in Aba in March 2018″, Abia Police Commissioner, Ogbizi explained.
Ogbizi expressed surprise that the contraband material passed through all the clearing processes at the port and security personnel on the road from Lagos to Aba without being detected.
The Abia Police Commissioner also used the occasion to parade about 12 other suspects involved in various crimes, including armed robbery, kidnapping, rape and bank fraud. He warned Abia residents to be very vigilant and carefully monitor neighbours as the new trend now is that bad neighbours often give out information to criminals.
