THE African Public Relations Association, APRA, has joined the world to mourn the passing away of Kofi Annan.

In a statement, President of APRA, Yomi Badejo Okusanya said: “By his death, Africa has lost one of its greatest brand assets who along with the likes of Nelson Mandela, impacted heavily on the narrative for a more positive Africa especially in the face of contrived negativity.

“In life and death, Annan remains an inspiration to Africans and the world at large. His life is a challenge for everyone to always strive for a better Africa and indeed, world.”

He added that there’s no better way to immortalise Annan and preserve his legacy than for the African Union and nation-states on the continent to adopt and implement policies of human advancement in peace, good governance and people’s welfare which he stood for.
