WARRI—A presidential hopeful on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Mumakhai Unagha, has called on the leadership of the party to do away with delegate primary election to choose candidates for the presidential slot and elective offices at the state level.

Unagha in Warri, Delta State, yesterday, said all card carrying members of the party should be allowed to be part of electing a presidential candidate as well as governorship and House of Assembly candidates, adding that this process would eliminate undemocratic process in the exercise.
Calling on the National Chairman of the party, Mr Adams Oshiohole, to accord every presidential aspirant a level playing field in the primaries, he noted that the National Chairman should take steps to resolve the crisis rocking the party in several states.
“You are all aware that I am aspiring to the highest office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2019. I am not worried nor afraid of the power of incumbency as I am confident that the party will organise a free and fair primary election.”
