According to the eyewitnesses, the victim, who was said to be riding on a commercial motorcycle popularly called Okada, was trailed by the gunmen, who ordered the commercial motorcyclist conveying the victim to stop. They, thereafter, immediately shot him and sped off.

When newsmen got to the scene of the incident at about 6p.m., bloodstains were noticed all over the scene.
The incident led to the closure of many shops in and around nearby Bisi Market as traders, who either witnessed or got wind of the killing, hurriedly left for their homes.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, DSP Caleb Ikechukwu, said the command was yet to be briefed by the Divisional Police Officer of Okesa Division.
