UMUAHIA—AN Umuahia based human rights lawyer, Dr, Anthony Agbazuere has called on Abia politicians to respect and maintain the power sharing equity in the State and allow Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to go for another four year tenure.

According to Agbazuere, the equity charter of the state was designed to create peace in the state by giving every part of the State equal opportunity to in turns produce governor of the state.

Briefing journalists in Umuahia,

“On equity, out of the 3 senatorial zones of Abia Statebia North served two terms through Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, Abia Central served two terms through Chief T. A. Orji. It is therefore equitable and most appropriate that Abia South should also be allowed to serve their two terms.”

He however insisted that performance would equally be considered in adhering to the equity, saying, “I think equity and performance are the two pillars for which we should respect this position.

“Governor Okezie Ikpeazu who is from Abia South Senatorial zone has served only one term and given his performance index rating, he deserves a second term in office.”
