UYO—Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State will onFriday declare his intent to seek re-election in 2019 and also present his account of stewardship since 2015 when he took over the rein of governance of the oil-rich state.
The governor dropped the hint at Onna, affirming that his administration had impacted positively on the state as evidenced in the massive road construction, industrialization of the state, stable power supply, among other people oriented projects.
Emmanuel said he was ordained by God to govern, adding: “God is looking for one person. He is not looking for many people. Like the brotherhood would sing, the world is looking for a sign,” adding that his administration was a symbol of peace, unity, progress and development of the 31-year-old state.
“This is one government that believes in the peace and unity of the state. I will present to the whole world our scorecard on Friday when I will declare to seek re-election. I am a symbol of unity. I stand for peace. I stand for progress. I stand for the development of the state.”
