Esegbue urged to contest 2019 polls

By Ephraim Oseji

THE people of Egbaoma in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State have called on Mr. Leo Esegbue, a former commissioner in the state to contest for any elective position in the forth coming 2019 general elections. Addressing newsmen at Umutu, Chief Ogochukwu Achudume, the Onotu of Akoku Kingdom and EzeIkoshi (King of Boys) said we had watched all the candidates who have indicated interest to contest elections in this LGA and discovered that it is the same crop of old politicians who have failed us since 1999 that are being recycled with the aid of their godfathers.

According to him, we have observed that right from the time of Ibori’s reelection they will give him one appointment to enable him lead the party to victory and once the elections are won, they will drop him and bring in their candidates until another election season because they know he has tremendous goodwill. We are tired of these set of representatives and want to elect persons that would salvage us. We cannot have a Leo Esegbue in government for two years without having one or two industries in Ukwuani.

Most of us risk our lives day and night working for the victory of the party because of him, so that he could take care of us but instead people who have godfather would take over the centre stage and we the electorate would helplessly be just observers. It is better we cast our vote for him than vote for other people because of him.

Majority of Ukwani people are jobless and suffering. We need job creators like Esegbue to liberate us.

All we are waiting for is for him to accept our proposal and contest under any party platform of his choice and other parties in this local government will become history.”
