Association of Ohordua Sons and Daughters, AOSAD, has cried to Edo state government to come to the aid of Ohordua Mixed Secondary School, OMSS, the only secondary school serving seven surrounding communities.

The Association made the distress call when its leader paid a courtesy visit to the state’s Commissioner of Education, Emmanuel Agbale, in his office in Benin.

Vice President of AOSAD, Fred Oribhabor, told the Commissioner that the visit was to seek the state government’s help in resuscitating the school.

Oribhabor noted that the community had in the past engaged in self effort to improve the infrastructure of the school but it had not been able to bring it to the required standard.

Responding, the Commissioner explained that infrastructural decay was not peculiar to Ohordua but that a few other schools in state were also affected.

Agbale also noted that the government had taken a good notice of the ugly trend and was determined to pay attention to schools within Edo State.

He pointed out that the team’s visit was timely because it came when decisions were still being made by the state government.

He however advised the team to channel its request to Governor of the State, Godwin Obaseke, through his office.
