ASABA—DELTA State Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Cyril Ogodo, has restated the resolve of the party to take over the state in 2019.
Speaking at the maiden expanded State Executive Committee, SEC, held at the party’s state Secretariat in Asaba, Ogodo said: “The APC is on a rescue mission, we want to rescue Delta from PDP’s misrule.”
While thanking party faithful and stakeholders for standing firm in the face of the many challenges the party faced during the recent congresses, he acknowledged the existence of a faction, which according to him, conducted parallel congresses and claimed legitimacy through a contentious court consent judgment.
He expressed his resolve to reconcile all aggrieved parties in the state.
Also speaking, leader of the party in the state, Olorogun O’Tega Emerhor, congratulated Chief Ogodo and his executives for their successes at the congresses and their successful swearing-in.
Emerhor said: “The National Chairman of the party along with the Presidency have mandated Dr Ibe Kachikwu to bring all warring groups together to achieve unity and peace in the party.
“I am ready to work with the Minister in his bid to reconcile all parties and achieve peace in order to defeat PDP in 2019.”
