Understanding is the key to which a person could have a meaningful and successful life in this world. Whoever is endowed with understanding owns the key to all things. The Bible says in Hosea 4:6: “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…”

What is knowledge or who is a knowledgeable person? A knowledgeable person is the one that understands the mysteries around him or her. A person that lacks knowledge will not understand how to handle his/her life because the Bible says in Proverbs 16 :21: “Understanding is a fountain of life to those who have it…” Also Proverbs 21:16 says a man who strays from the path of understanding come to rest in the company of the dead”
Some people never believe they are living un-pleasant lives even when you try to enlighten such people, they tend to behave within the limit of their own personal unders-tanding. Imagine a child that is being encouraged to ac-quire education at early age but he is so engrossed in playing around and catching fun while his peers are busy going to school while some engage in one apprenticeship or the other.
Being playful is what the child under-stands at that particular time. The child does not have the grasp of the value of quality education at that time. What preoccupies his mind is that there are so many people not educated but are successful.
However, after some years, his peers have now gone their separate ways, he is now left alone without education or any skill. He discovers his irrelevance in society and inferiority complex sets in his life while his educated peers are successful in their chosen careers. He finds it difficult to join them in any meaningful discussion because he is not in the same level with his peers.
Later he realised how far he had played his time. What was missing in him was understanding of his playing days. Similarly, if everyone understands and have the knowledge about the job to choose in life, no one would not live above poverty level or average life.
For instance, a person that is suppos-ed to be an auto-mechanic engineer by profession but works in a bank. A male member of my ministry was into clearing and forwarding business and always complain about is living in poverty. The spirit of God revealed to me that he had engaged in a wrong profession that he should go into selling of metal pro-ducts preferable iron and steel mater-ials. After six months, he came back to me in his own car.
