The stakeholders and members of the party who made the call at Otu-Jeremi, the local government headquarters, weekend, also adopted Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for a second term in 2019.

Addressing a large gathering of PDP faithful, including women and youths, the convener and Director General of Project Taleb Tebite 2019, Dr Matthew Kwode said that following the antecedents and unequalled achievements of Hon.Taleb Tebite while at the State House of Assembly, compared with what they have presently,  there is need for him to return to the House in 2019 to enable him continue with his good works and service to the people of the constituency.

Dr. Kwode stressed that as an experienced lawmaker and team player, Hon. Tebite, if given the mandate will work amicably with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and other members of the House in order to attract development to Ughelli South constituency.

He also highlighted the need for them to work for the re-election of Governor Okowa in 2019.

One after the other, leaders of the PDP from the eleven wards in Ughelli South LGA including Chief Simon Duku, Chief David Upaka, one time woman leader, Chief Chrisitana Ofuedje, Monday Kumasi and Hon John Obuvwenya among others, pledged their support for the return of Tebite to the State House of Assembly, noting that the position has not been zoned to any part of the local government area.

While advising the people, a PDP stalwart, Chief Aghogho Okpogbodu, emphatically stated that there was nothing like zoning formula in the political party or system but that the best candidate for the party should be supported.

He lamented that the absence of Chief Tebite in the current dispensation has negatively affected the flow of the dividends of democracy and other development benefits to the people, stressing that the people of Ughelli South are fully behind Hon. Taleb Tebite and will massively vote for him in the DTHA 2019 election.

Others who spoke listed some of the achievements of Hon.Taleb Tebite to include qualitative representation of the constituency, elaborate empowerment for youths, women and men,    scholarships for indigent students and attraction of several devevelopment projects to the constituency.

At the end of  the deliberations, Hon.  Zacchaeus Kanuhor from Ekakpamre Ward moved a motion calling on Hon Taleb Tebite to contest for the Ughelli South Constituency election in 2019 and the adoption of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as their gubernatorial candidate in 2019.

The motion was seconded by Mr Moses Atimeyen of Eghwu Ward 2 and unanimously adopted by all present through a voice vote.

Meanwhile, Hon Taleb Tebite has finally agreed to contest for the Ughelli South Constituency seat in the state House of Assembly come 2019, following pressure from prominent PDP leaders in the area.

Chief Tebite disclosed that after carefully considering the calls from various groups  and leaders, he went into wide consultations with key stakeholders in Ughelli South LGA who gave him the green light, before taking his decision to contest for the position.

He noted that as an experienced lawmaker and team player he has what it takes to efficiently and effectively represent the constituency.

Tebite promised to bring Ughelli South to limelight again and deliver the dividends of democracy to his constituents, if given the mandate.

He disclosed that he will soon make an official declaration of his intention, urging the people to sustain their support for him and the re-election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in 2019.
