**commence Agric/InfoTech training for 100 youths

LOKOJA – Kogi Agricultural Development Project (ADP) has launched its Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Agriculture Training Centre.
The centre targets to train youths on general use of information technology such as Microsoft office, database management, and software application to enhance agricultural business of Livestock, Crop Production, Fishery and Extension Service.
The training which commenced Saturday, free for first 100 beneficiaries was flagged & off at the agency headquarters in Felele, Lokoja.
Speaking at the flag- off, the Managing Director, Kogi ADP, Mr. Oyisi Okatahi said, “The knowledge they will acquire during the 3 days training will equip them to be innovative, self reliant and productive.
“A combination of Information Technology and Agricultural skills is a potent tool that can be used for youth empowerment. The training will be more of practical than theoretical.”
Okatahi however said due to the difficult economic situation the next batch of trainees will pay a token to access the scheme, calling on the youths to contact the agency in person or online, to avail themselves of the opportunity.
He also eulogized the state Governor, Yahaya Bello for putting in place such innovations that has transformed the agricultural sector in the State.
