GUNMEN suspected to be assassins have reportedly shot dead Mr Okoringa Ebikimi, Special Adviser to Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State.

According to sources, the deceased was shot  Monday night at his hometown, Kaiama in Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area of the state.

Though details of the incident were hazy, it was gathered that the gunmen laid an ambush for their victim before shooting him as he alighted from his car.

“He was shot severally by the gunmen who later escaped into the dark night,” a community source said.

Attempt to get the comment of the spokesman of the state Police command, Mr Asinim Butswat, proved abortive as his mobile phone number was not going through.
