Anambra

CHIEFTAIN of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Anambra State, Chief Ifeanyi Orji has called on the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party to conduct a state congress in order to have a leadership that would be generally accepted in the state.
Orji, in a chat with Vanguard, warned that if the grievances of members in the state are not addressed, the crisis in the state chapter might jeopardise the party’s chances in 2019 general election.
His words: “If the National Working Committee should be gracious enough to conduct credible congress in Anambra State, the PDP will sweep all the National Assembly elections. PDP will take not less than 70 percent of the seats in the state House of Assembly. PDP is the leading party in the state.
“The success of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Anambra is because of the disunity in PDP.
“I urge presidential aspirants in the PDP to ensure that the crisis in Anambra PDP is resolved before the commencement of any campaign for 2019 because the state is important to whoever emerges as our presidential candidate.”
