An aspirant on the platform of the APC, Dr Bayo Orire, has accused Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State of pumping huge sums of money to prosecute the 2014 election that produced him.
Fayose had decried alleged heavy influx of money into Ekiti by top APC aspirants, wondering why some of them are desperate to buy their way into power if they hade geninue intention to rule.
According to him, “Fayose is only ranting on his allegation that aspirants in our party brought huge money to Ekiti. We have it on records that he also collected billions of naira to prosecute his own election, so If he is talking of influx of money, we don’t know where he has got that but that he might be having some hallucination from the ideas he had when he did his own. He could as well go to the EFCC or police to go and blow the whistle on who brought in money and for what purposes.
Oririe described his chance to clinch the party ticket on May 5 as very bright because he has been an home based aspirant that the Ekiti people yearn for. “You know I have a bright chance of winning because of the prevailing sentiments of the populace to have a home based aspirant winning the poll, somebody who has been a commuted progressive.
“We have been here through thick and thin from AD to ACN and AD now APC.
“I have been campaigning and talking about my ambition everybody knows me I am well known and an elder in the party.
“I urge them to choose a man of integrity, home based and sound character like me.
“I have always told them that majority of the delegates are home based. If they choose those who are from outside and are money bags, they would forget them when they get to office.”
“This is the chance they have to choose a home based person like me who would identify with them and ensure they benefit fully from the government.
“They should not recycle old hands. If that is done it means they are going to recycle the bad governance and poor management of our resources plaquing our state They should vote smartly, vote integrity and home based and success which I represent,” Orire said.
