UGHELLI—FORMER secretary of Delta State chapter, Association of Fish Farmers and Acquaculturists of Nigeria, AFFAN, Prince Felix Ogbobore, has cried out that the Urhobo have never had it this bad in representation at the Federal Executive Council.
Prince Ogbobore, while speaking on the expectations of the Urhobo nation ahead of the 2019 general election, said: “It is sad that the Urhobo, who are the 5th largest ethnic group in the country, are not represented with even a junior ministerial appointment at the executive council.
“President Muhammadu Buhari should not be deceived. The Urhobo nation will not support him if he seeks re-election in 2019 because they are suffering under his administration despite their huge contribution to the national purse.
“We did not suffer like this in previous administrations compared to what we are experiencing in this government. As peace loving people, we are not involved in bombing, vandalisation of pipelines, oil installations or any kind of violence to the government or oil companies operating in our land and even in our peaceful disposition, the Urhobo nation remains underdeveloped.
“There is no Federal Government presence, no industries to engage our youths as the oil companies in the land prefer the principle of divide and rule instead of adjusting to the local content law.”
