ONITSHA—NIGERIANS have been charged to be part of solution to the country’s myriad of problems and not a part of the problems .
The Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha Catholic Ecclesiastical Province and Archbishop of Onitsha Archdiocese, His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Valerian Maduka Okeke who gave the charge yesterday in his Easter message, said anybody could either be part of the solution or the problem.
Archbishop Okeke who gave the message to newsmen at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha, shortly after his pastoral visit at Onitsha Prisons, maintained that a president or governor or security agencies could be part of the problems if they fail to discharge their responsibilities as required by law.
According to Okeke, “if as a president, you could not protect peoples’ lives and properties or provide their needs, then you are part of the problems”.
Again he declared: “ if you are a pastor or reverend and you are bent on exploiting your congregation or dish out false prophesy, you are already a part of the problems; or as a law enforcement agent, you treat the poor with disdain and pamper the rich who committed the same offence, you are a part of the problems.”
