OLEH—CHAIRMAN of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State, Prince Godwin Ogorugba, yesterday, said Nigeria was more divided with people living in fear and abject poverty under the President Muhammadu Buhari- led All Progressives Congress, APC, administration.
Reacting to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s claim that President Buhari had failed Nigerians, Ogorugba said: “APC lacks the capacity to give good governance to Nigerians. APC is a total failure and you can’t reward failure. In 2019, Nigerians must vote out and stop APC before APC stops Nigeria.
“Everybody is living in fear with horrors of herdsmen attack on innocent citizens going on in Delta, Benue and other parts of the country. They said within six months, Boko Haram will be history, but after three years of APC administration, Boko Haram is stronger.
“Under APC, the middle class in the social strata has been eradicated. What we have are the rich and the very poor. Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow.”
APC came to steal and deceive Nigerians with programmes that they don’t have the capacity and knowhow to implement.
“What Obasanjo is telling APC is that they ought to have taken off from what they met, but instead, they have been indulging in blame game. Jonathan did this, PDP did that. If you don’t have the capacity to govern, then go away for people who have the capacity to do so.
“When PDP came in 1999, they didn’t start blaming the military for anything. They took off from what they met. PDP met oil at $25 per barrel, minimum wage at N3,500, telecommunication was in shambles, so many things not in proper shape. PDP increased minimum wage to N18,000, created over six million direct employment and over 20 million indirect employment and achieved so many things.
“APC is a total failure. They have not even added a single kilometer of road to the ones they met since they took over three years ago. They can’t continue to deceive Nigerians. What Obasanjo is saying is that APC should stop the blame game. “
