PDP And APC
By Gabriel Enogholase
BENIN—EDO State chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Dan Orbih, has appealed to the state governor and his party, All Progressives Congress, APC, to tolerate the opinions of the opposition in the state, saying it was the only way democracy can survive.
Orbih, who made the appeal while welcoming members of the PDP Working Committee from the South-South zone to Edo State, said no democracy anywhere can survive if the opposition was muzzled by the government in power, noting: “In any democracy, while the majority must have their way, the minority must have their say.”
The Edo State PDP chairman insisted that all attempts by the Edo State governor and his administration to silence opposition in the state will be vehemently resisted by the party.
He said no amount of intimidation by the APC in the state will suppress the party from carrying out its obligations to liberate the people of Edo State from the misdeeds of the state governor, who has plundered the state into abject poverty over the years.
