Super Falcons assistant coach, Maureen Madu said the list of players for the friendly against France next month will be out this week.

She revealed the team will be a blend of the old and new as the Super Falcons chase qualification for the 2018 African Women Nations Cup and a ticket to the FIFA Women World Cup 2019 in France.

“After the WAFU Women Cup our concentration is to qualify for the AWCON.

“The Nigeria Football Federation has done well to arrange the international friendly against France. We are eagerly looking forward to it to asses the players and those we feel can be ready for the campaign ahead,” the former Nigeria international stated.

“The chief coach will decide on the list of players to invite next week.”

The Super Falcons were bronze medal winners at the WAFU Women Cup, a position that wasn’t so pleasing to the coach Thomas Dennerby. It was his first major outing with the team.

However, the Swede is looking to maintain the strong Nigerian tradition of dominating the continent by winning the AWCON in Ghana and also advancing beyond first round at the women world cup.
