UMUAHIA—AHEAD of 2019 general elections, the entire Ngwa and Ukwa people, commonly called Ukwa/Ngwa are planning to come together to ensure that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is re-elected in 2019.
Towards this end, a programme tagged “2018 Ukwa/Ngwa Annual Declaration”, aimed at mobilizing support for Governor Ikpeazu ahead of 2019 elections, has been scheduled to hold tomorrow at Okpuala Ngwa, headquarters of Isiala Ngwa Local Government Council.
Being championed by Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba who has met all the prominent traditional rulers of Ukwa/Ngwa, the event would also be used to take common stand on issues concerning Ukwa/Ngwa.
Briefing journalists Monday, at his Umuogele Ntigha home, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba said the occasion would become “a regular even to look at where we are as a people and where we are heading to”.
According to him, “we are simply replicating what we have always done”, and explained that the nine council areas that make up the Ukwa/Ngwa bloc would be involved in the event.
