Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has reacted to the accusation levelled against him by Isco.
Isco had after his hat-trick in Spain’s 6-1 international friendly victory over Argentina taken a swipe as his club’s coach saying he lacks the confidence a player needs when he plays for the club.
Isco had said: “In Madrid, I don’t have the confidence a player needs, ”
“The matches with the national team give me life. Here, I have the confidence of the coach.
“I want to show that I’m a good player. Lopetegui shows me confidence with the minutes he gives me.
“Maybe I’m the problem in Madrid. I don’t know how to win Zidane’s confidence.”
Zidane in a pre-match press conference ahead of the Week 29 game against Las Palmas admitted that although Isco does not get the same role he gets at the national team in Madrid, he still regards him as an important player for the team.
“I’m not unfair with Isco, he’s happy”, Zidane said
“Maybe he does not have the same role here, but I’ve shown him that he’s an important player for the team”; “I’m happy for the performance he had against Argentina”.
Real Madrid will also continue the defence of their Champions League title on Tuesday when they face last year’s finalist Juventus in Turin.
