YENAGOA—A chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bayelsa State, Chief Abel Ebifemowei, who recently dumped the party for Young Democratic Party, YDP, said his decision was hinged on the fact that he needed a party that truly identifies with youths.
Ebifemowei, a former Special Adviser on Youths to Bayelsa State Government and former Chairman of the State Environmental Sanitation Authority, under Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is a founding member of the PDP, before he joined APC in 2015.
In a chat with newsmen in his office in Yenagoa, Monday, Ebifemowei said although the youths were prepared to take over political power, most of the leading political parties were not ready to give them the opportunity.
He said: “Change is the only constant thing. As we speak, I am not in APC anymore.
“As a youth leader, I deem it fit to give youths a platform to seek and aspire for political offices and to do that I need to get a party for them and I believe that YDP will offer the youths the best platform to realise their political aspiration and ambition.”
