A chieftain of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has warned hecklers to stop spreading false information regarding the leaked internal memo from the office of the Secretary to the State Government in Anambra, newsmen report.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Awka, the National Coordinator APGA Media Warriors Forum, Evang Chinedu Obigwe condemned the politicization of such and urged propagators to stop misinforming the public owing to their inability to interpret properly a memo that instructed all political appointees to prepare and submit their handover notes and accounts of stewardship which perhaps is constitutionally binding.
Gov Obiano
Recall that some sections of the media and alleged opposition parties opined that Governor Willie Obiano, dissolved his cabinet, sacked his commissioners, aides and political appointees which reportedly were lies emanating from haters.
In view of the above misinterpretation, Obigwe argued that the memo should not have raised eyebrows in the public domain if it had been properly studied by critics.
Speaking further, he urged the general public to disregard and ignore those politicizing the issue, noting that Governor Obiano is poised to use his second term mandate to deliver more dividends of good governance to the people of the State.
He also said that some of the appointees might be reappointed by the Governor because of their laudable performance in their respective ministries.
He asserted without mincing words that the likes of Hon Law Chinwuba, Commissioner for Works, Engr Emeka Okoye, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on project supervision, Hon Kate Omenugha, Commissioner for Education, Hon Afam Mbanefo, Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon Tony Oli, Senior Special Assistant on Finance to the Governor, Hon Greg Obi, Commissioner for Local government and few others performed creditably well and if reappointed he would not be surprised because every good work deserves a reward.
He equally opined that the Governor must be allowed to exercise his constitutional rights, to reappoint and appoint new people in his cabinet. Obigwe admonished patriotic citizens of the State to join hands with the Governor to transform Anambra State.
“On my own part, I promise to continue to contribute my quota to support the administration of His Excellency, Chief Dr Willie Obiano for the actualization of his lofty vision and mission in the state. Anambra must be great and we will make it happen”, he finally said.
