The management of Maritime Academy of Nigeria, MAN, Oron, Cross River State, has revealed some of its staff were arrested over sharp practices and document peddling.
In a statement by the academy’s Public Affairs unit, it stated that every staff must key in into the new focus handed down to the new management of the academy.
The statement read in part: “The House of Rep-resentatives Committee on Federal Character invited the academy, due to irregularities noticed in its employment processes of 2016.
“The irregularities included the recruitment of 83 persons illegally into the academy.
“The House Committee on Federal Character now asked the academy to go back and re-present some documents. But what some workers did was to smuggle in some documents.”
