ABUJA- A former governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife has expressed sadness over the death of the one time minister of internal affairs (now interior), Brigadier General John Shagaya (retd) who died weekend in a motor accident, saying that in his life time he was always thinking of Nigeria.
Ezeife in a condolence message in Abuja, Monday, said the late Shagaya was always straight forward and frank on national issues.
According to Okwadike as he is fondly called, “I am pained very discouragingly by the death of John Shagaya. He is one of the very few who think Nigerian and would not hesitate to call a spade a spade.
“From the North, he was in league with Lamido, the Emir of Kano, Balarabe Musa of Kaduna, most of the time, Dangiwa Umar ……. there may be few others.
“May his soul rest peacefully in the Lord.”
