Polytechnic probes ex-rector over alleged N98m fraud

Ado-Ekiti—THE management of Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti has commenced a probe into the administration of its former Rector, Dr Taiwo Akande over alleged mismanagement of workers’ promotion arrears of N98 million.

The Governing Council has also slammed a three-month suspension on the Registrar, Mrs. Sade Adediran and the Bursar, Mr. E.A. Onaolapo.

The Council has appointed Mr. J.O. Awoniyi as the Acting Registrar and Mr. E.O. Aboluje as the Acting Bursar.

In a statement by the Deputy Registrar, Information, Mr. Ade Adeyemi-Adejolu, the suspended officers have been ordered to step aside for a period of three months “consequent upon an ongoing restructuring.”

The statement said the decision was arrived at during the Council’s statutory meeting held on February 15.
