Nigerian Stock Exchange: Skye Bank, Hallmark Insurance top losers

Losses in Skye Bank Plc and Hallmark Insurance Plc and 24 other companies today further depressed the equities market.

At the close of trading, investors lost yet another N43 billion, bringing the equities capitalisation to N15.548 trillion from N15.624 trillion.

Specifically, Skye bank Plc which led the losers went down y 8.93 percent to close at N1.02 from N1.12, followed by Hallmark Insurance Plc with 5.26 percent decrease to close at N0.36 from N0.38 per share.

Nestle Nigeria Plc ranked third, depreciating by five percent to close at N1,372.80 from N1,445.00. Diamond Bank which placed fourth, declined by 4.83 percent to close at N2.76 from N2.90 per share, while Aiico Insurance Plc depreciated by 4.76 percent to close at N0.80 from N0.84 per share.

Conversely, 17 gainers emerged during the day led by Unity Bank Plc with 9.38 percent gains to close at N1.75 from N1.60 per share. Forte Oil Plc followed on the gainers chart, appreciating by 4.90 percent to close at N48.20 from N45.95 per share.

Royal Exchange Plc ranked third, rising by 4.76 percent to close at N0.44 from N0.42; Sterling Bank went up by 4.69 percent to close at N2.23 from N2.13, while Cadbury Nigeria Plc was up 4.38 percent to close at N15.50 from N14.85 per share.
