Uyo—GOVERNOR Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has signed the N646.6 billion 2018 budget passed last Tuesday by the state House of Assembly into Law.
This is against the N651 billion which the governor had earlier proposed to the state House of Assembly.
The governor assented to the budget yesterday at the State Executive Council Chamber, Government House, Uyo.
A breakdown of the budget shows that N431 billion is for capital expenditure, N94.6 billion for recurrent expenditure while consolidated revenue funds charges stands at N120.8 billion.
Governor Emmanuel thanked the House of Assembly, particularly the Committee on Finance and Appropriation chaired by Mr. Usoro Akpanusoh, for the robust deliberations which resulted in the speedy passage of the 2018 Appropriation Bill.
“I assure the people of Akwa Ibom State that my administration will ensure full implementation of the budget for their benefit,” Emmanuel said.
