Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State has threatened to deal with perpetrators of communal clashes between Offa in Offa Local Government Area and Ijagbo in Oyun Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Ahmed, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abdulwahab Oba, expressed concern over the unwarranted and avoidable incidents in the two communities.
He expressed concerns that some individuals could take laws into their hands, despite various established platforms to seek redress and settle emerging communal matters.
The governor directed security agencies in the state to arrest and bring perpetrators of the crisis to justice, and restore law and order in the communities as, according to him, government will not allow any breach of peace, harmony and tranquility under any guise in the state.
Ahmed assured that his administration will continue to prioritise the protection of lives and properties for economic growth and development, and security agencies in the state were in charge of the situation.
