About Dundee
Dundee is situated on the east coast of Scotland and is located around 1.5 hours from Edinburgh, 2
hours from Glasgow, and just a few hours from the picturesque Scottish Highlands. Our university is at
the heart of this compact city, with all local amenities within walking distance of our main campus. With
students making up around 10% of the local population, it’s a welcoming, student-friendly city. It’s also
one of the most affordable UK university cities —around 14% cheaper to live here than other major UK
cities. You’ll be based at our medical school, which is part of Ninewells Hospital- a National Health Service (NHS) teaching hospital— and is ranked No.1 medical school in Scotland (Guardian Good University Guide 2018)
We’ve also recently been awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2017.
“My professional life is centred around health promotion. Back in my country, I have been practicing as a physiotherapist for 8+ years. I had been looking at several universities to apply to that were tailored to what I was looking for. Dundee caught my attention. I had never heard of Dundee before but the communication was what I fell in love with. I was in constant communication with the staff here —the communication made me realise I had picked the right university.”
