Lagos—THE lawmaker representing Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Oghene Egoh has blamed the Federal Government and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, over the current fuel scarcity in the country.
Egoh, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said the federal government should be blamed for lack of planning.
He accused government of deliberately failing to plan ahead for the festive period.
The lawmaker said: “The country has never had this kind of terrible fuel shortage; even during former President Jonathan regime we never had it this bad. This has showed that the APC led government has failed Nigerians.”
Egoh noted that it is no longer propaganda because Nigerians are suffering and it shows everywhere that there is hardship in the country.
He urged the federal government to sell all the refineries that are not functioning to private individual and channel the funds spent as Turn around Maintenance into providing infrastructures for the people.
He, however, called on the federal government, the PPMC and independent marketers, IPMAN to urgently find a lasting solution to the current fuel scarcity.
