KANO—Kano State’s Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Mohammad Na’iya, has attributed the delay in December salary to multiple technical challenges.
Na’iya in a chat with Vanguard denied insinuation that government was bankrupt and incapacitated to sustain payment of civil servants salary.

He, however, admitted the complication in the payment system, but restated that the situation was not deliberate.
He blamed some workers for inconsistency in their account number and BVN.
His reaction followed protest by some workers who are yet to receive their December salaries.
Apart from those lamenting the delayed of December salary, some workers were underpaid while a few were overpaid.
Na’iya said Kano State Government was among the few states in the country that maintains a clean slate on payment of salaries and pension.
He reassured of the commitment of his office and Ministry of Finance to resolve the impasse soon.
