Jesus, while stating the possibilities His blood can offer, said it so categorically and emphatically that you can sense the air of cer-tainty around His bold unique selling point. In fact, if there were any doubts in the heart of His pros-pects, such would have been dis-pelled. I am so grateful to be a part of the many He died for.
God loves everyone. Do not allow anyone to plant doubts in your heart that you are beyond redemp-tion and that the love of God will selectively reject you. Not at all. On the contrary, He died for you a sinner and because of that love He is willing to reconcile you to God. It will happen in your life today.
For it to happen in your life, you have to make the right moves at every point in time.
Luke 24:46-47 “And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, begin-ning at Jerusalem.”
God expects you to have the desire to do away with sin so that you will be clean, because sin stinks, defiles, brings disgrace and cala-mity. Whereas God wants to clean you up, bring prestige to the already battered image sin caused and repair your broken connect-ion to heaven.
To do that you have to turn away from every act of sin by accepting Jesus as your Saviour. That is re-pentance and it is very important, if you must have a good standing with God.
Acts 3:19-20 “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you.”
If you want to get to heaven when you die, you will need cleansing and forgiveness for your sins. That means you must experience true conversion by turning away from the path of evil into the narrow way that leads to heaven.
When Jesus turns us away from all iniquities, He will give to us a new life and our names will be written in heaven. That is when the Spirit of God will begin to bear witness in your heart that you are a child of God.
Luke 10:20 “Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”
There are habitual churchgoers who do not even know how close they were to having their names written in God’s recordbook. In fact, in every service day, this will shock you, God in His character-istic manner, will hold the pen waiting for them to repent, but they never do. They never thought of giving God the chance of writ-ing their names in the book of life.
Shockingly, immediately after the service, what they care for the most begins to unravel as they could be seen in clusters majoring in the minor by appreciating the melodious choir rendition, the wonderful sermon the minister gave and the clothing worn by Mr or Mrs XYZ.
May be you are like that. You have been coming consistently but you are not yet saved. I want to let you know that God is readily available to pen your name in that awesome book of life. All you need do is to turn away from sin and you will be saved. Today it will happen. Your name will be written there, because the people who do not have their names written in God’s kingdom will regret it for ever and ever. Do not let that be your portion. You will not regret it. Your name will be written there.
Revelation 20:15 “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
The people whose names are not found in the book of life are marked for eternal punishment. That is why you should get this into your head. Church attendance is not the main thing nor is it religious activity. I pray that this gospel we hear will do our life a world of good in Jesus name.
I John 3:4-5 “Whosoever commi-tteth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.”
If you know that Jesus came to take away your sin, then what stops you from presenting yourself before Him by asking him to reconfigure your heart, habits, language, attitude, etc? If you are ready, He will take your sins away.
In fact, the Jesus I know is willing to go a step further so as to con-solidate on your relationship with God by giving you the nature of the heavenly. That is by purifying your life.
I John 3:3 “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”
In the above scriptural reference, John the Beloved is talking about the hope of seeing Christ when He comes and the hope of marching in with the saints in glory land.
Let me take this moment to ask you this simple but profound question. Do you have the hope? If you ask an average person on the street this same question, you will be amazed by the responses you will receive at the end of the day.
