BENIN—Edo State Independent Electoral Commission, EDSIEC, has announced March 3, 2018 for the conduct of local government elections in the state.

Meantime, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, said it will commence preparation for the conduct of primaries for its aspirants in earnest.

The announcement was made yesterday by the chairman of the Commission, Prof. Stanley Orobator. According to the statement, political parties are expected to conduct their primaries before the end of the month and commence campaigns from next month.
