CHIEF Francis Maku, immediate past chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, Delta State, has said that All Progressives Congress, APC, can never defeat the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, noting that the last council elections in the state attests to his claim.

Maku, while reacting to a statement credited to former Edo State governor, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, that the APC will defeat the ruling PDP in Delta State come 2019, described the statement as laughable, saying it will never happen in Delta State.

Maku said the former governor was only trying to seek political relevance from his APC party which has since abandoned him, adding that Deltans were not even aware if there is a party like APC in the state.

He noted that the name APC is alien to Deltans and as such the party cannot sack PDP or a workaholic governor like Ifeanyi Okowa with his wonderful blue print and development strides.

The Warri Kingdom chief described the former governor as “a noise maker” whose eight years as governor of Edo State could not witness any meaningful landmark development and as such he should not talk in midst of governors with  proven track records like the Delta State governor.

According to Maku, Oshiomhole and his party APC at the national level have failed Nigerians with increasing level of poverty, “ So Oshiomhole should think of how his party can end the current fuel crisis in Nigeria rather than attack Delta PDP, that is on the way to winning the 2019 election.”
