All Progressives Congress, APC, Women Forum is wooing Dr. Ngozi Olejeme, former Chairman of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF, to join the ruling party.

Led by Hajia Aisha Bala, the APC women made the appeal while condoling with Dr. Olejeme, over the death of her husband, Mr. Gordon Obua, who passed on recently. Before his death, Mr Obua was Chief Security Officer, CSO, to former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Speaking on behalf of the women, Aisha Bala, who is the National Coordinator of APC Women Forum, said the death of Olejeme’s husband was a very bitter pill to swallow, adding that it was particularly sad as the incident occurred on the verge of Olejeme’s defection to the APC.

According to her, Dr. Ngozi Olejeme will be bringing along with her an extra-ordinary credentials dating back to her wealth of experience and achievements both in the public and private sectors.

“Olejeme is in PDP, but PDP is a sinking party. So we want her with us in APC. Her records in the government organizations where she had served as chairman of the board remain difficult to beat by anybody. For instance, at NSITF, she met a 80-member workforce when she resumed as chairman of the Board but she increased the workforce to about 7000 before the board was dissolved.

There were virtually no branch offices nationwide but she ensured that new offices were opened all over the country and this jacked up revenue to government coffers. As chairman of Trust Fund Pension PLC, she also took that organization to its peak in terms of growth.

A similar performance was re- enacted when she was in the Board of SURE-P as Convener on Public works/FERMA. Her grassroots appeal is an added advantage to our party both in her state, Delta and at the national level.’’
