WARRI—THE Federal Government has been urged to adequately fund the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC this year for it to effectively address challenges of under development in the region.
Making the appeal yesterday in Warri, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC and the Ologbotsere of Warri kingdom, Chief Ayiri Emami, said effective funding of the commission this new year would enable it construct shore protection projects in Ugborodo and economic roads in several Itsekiri communities.
“Ours is to ensure there is development in our region. I want to plead with Mr President for the NDDC to be properly funded so that projects abandoned can be given attention. The shore protection in Ugborodo, canalization projects and roads in several Itsekiri communities can be attended to”, he said.
