Nigeria Professional Football League runners up, Mountain of Fire Miracles FC are aiming to win the Super 6 tournament title as they face Super Eagles team B in today’s final at the Sanni Abacha Stadium in Kano.
But according to Super Eagles assistant coach, Alloy Agu the tournament has been an excellent preparation ground for the CAF African Nations Championship bound team. Agu said the Eagles would want to finish well to boost their confidence ahead of the CHAN tournament starting January 13 in Morocco.
The Super 6 tournament has witnessed some sort of goal drought with most of the games ending in draws. The 1-0 defeat the Super Eagles handed Enyimba of Aba, was the only exception. The Eagles drew goalless with NPFL champions Plateau United in their opening match.
As for MFM, they edged their way into the final with superior goal difference over Kano Pillars.
“We didn’t have much time to prepare for the tournament,” said coach Agu.
“But we have managed quite well and the Super 6 has given us the opportunity to access the players as we prepare for the CHAN tournament.
“Goal scoring is still a problem with the team but after this outing, we are going to work on that aspect of the team to ensure we get to score goals at the CHAN tournament.”
MFM head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu is optimist that his team will have a good showing against the CHAN Eagles.
