The Igbo Renaissance has faulted the claim by the Nigeria Judicial Council, NJC, that Ndigbo were not short-changed in the recent appointment of Appeal Court justices, saying the South-East zone was actually sidelined in the process.

Obile of a  Federal High Court sitting in Calabar, Cross River State, has dismissed  a suit filed by UNICEM, a cement manufacturing company, challenging the powers of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, to regulate and control the exportation, importation, manufacture, advertisement, distribution, sale and use of chemicals in Nigeria.

World Health Organisation, WHO yesterday said despite an estimated US$ 2.7 billion invested in malaria control and elimination efforts globally in 2016 the world were still well below the target of $6.5 billion annual investment required to meet the 2030 targets of the WHO global malaria strategy.
