Oyedepo seeks help for victims of disasters


The founder of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, has appealed for help for victims of disasters across the country.

Oyedepo spoke in Makurdi while presenting relief materials to the Benue State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, on behalf of the victims of recent flood disaster in parts of the state.

Represented by Pastor Moses Oyedele, the bishop said, “In Living Faith Church, apart from the propagation of the message of salvation, we also believe in the support for victims of whatever misfortune.

“We commiserate with the government and people of Benue State on the huge devastation caused by the flood and pray that such misfortune never happens again.”

Receiving the materials, the Chairman of the Flood Committee and Deputy Governor, Mr. Benson Abounu, appreciated the support of the church to the administration especially through prayers and quick responses to humanitarian needs.

Represented by the Executive Secretary of SEMA, Mr. Emmanuel Shior, the Deputy Governor promised judicious distribution of the relief materials which included mattresses, wheel barrows, wrappers, cooking oil, bags of maize and beans, cartons of tomato paste, bathing soap and cooking pots.
