Etim told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the problem was affecting the team’s preparation for the championship slated to begin on Monday in Nairobi, Kenya.

“Since the ministry was not forthcoming with funds, we have to look for a sponsor to enable us continue training and to prepare well for the championship.

“However, we have not got much to enhance our participation.

“But the lack of funds is affecting our morale and preparation.

“We were just informed this morning that our tickets have been secured and I hope this will boost our morale,’’ he said.

NAN reports that the team had earlier held a five-day self-sponsored open camping in Port Harcourt in preparation for the championship.

The team is billed to leave Nigeria on Sunday for Kenya.(NAN)
