ICT African community managers, at a one-day forum, organized by StartZone, have listed insufficient funding, poor infrastructure, lack of motivation, among others, as reasons  they  have  not lived  to  full  potentials.

About 20 participants from Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana, attended the informal gathering which took place in Lagos, with issues affecting their various communities were discussed and solutions suggested.

According to a statement by Mr. Peter Adetunji of StartZone: “The aim of the event was to have the community managers sit around a table to wine and dine while networking with one another. The laid-back ambiance helped them express themselves without holding back, as many of them shared similar experiences and challenges.

“Funding is one major challenge all the community managers agreed they are facing, and the meet was an avenue to proffer solutions on how to solve the problem”.

On his experience, Ridwan Olalere, founder of forLoop  Africa, narrated how he started some years ago and the challenges he had faced  “ForLoop  Africa has extended to other Nigerian cities like Abuja, Uyo and Jos, and has plans to extend to other African countries such as Kenya, Ghana, South Africa and Rwanda, as no community can grow without the input of every individual that makes up the community”, he said.
