As the world marks World Children’s Day, parents are expected to assure children of a  great future that they can identify with as they are saddled with the responsibility of protecting children of today to become responsible and healthy adults tomorrow.

As you go through the Child Rights highlighted below, you are expected as parents , guardians,  teachers, neighbours, doctors, professors, counselors,   to be better informed to give your children and other people’s children hope for tomorrow.

According to UNICEF, children’s rights are human rights for children. The 1989 United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child is an international legal agreement (or ‘treaty’) that recognizes specific rights for children. ‘Rights’ are entitlements every child should have. All children have the same rights and these rights are listed in the Convention on the Rights of the Child and almost every country agreed to respect these rights in practice including Nigeria. All the rights listed below are connected, and equally important and cannot be taken away from children.

As children have the right to know their rights, as parents,  you should know about these rights and help the children learn about them.  All the rights are in the best interests of the child
