Angola marks 42nd independence anniversary

Angola  today begins the 42nd  anniversary of her independence.

The day is important to Angolans because they are celebrating under the theme, “United for Democratic Angola, One and Indivisible,” after the election of the third democratic president  adjudged free by both local and international communities.

With the poll, conducted  under the slogan, “Improve what is good and correct that which is bad”, the Angolan government intends to reinforce the democratic system firmly on high patriotic values, promotion of respect for institutions, fundamental freedom and strengthening of civic principles and acceptance of diversity and different choice of opinion.

At the economic level, Angola intends to attract more foreign private investment and explore domestic market for the entry of export products, inviting prospective investors to come and invest in this illustrious nation, where peace reigns.

Angola  also commemorates  the successful completion of its  two-year membership of the United Nations Security Council  and her election as member of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
