A total of 9,993 graduands of the 2015/2016 academic session will be honoured with different academic awards at the 43rd Convocation/ 47th Founder’s Day ceremony of the University of Benin, UNIBEN, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, has said.
Giving a breakdown of the graduands, while briefing journalists about the convocation ceremony which kicks off on November 22, 2017, Prof. Orumwense disclosed that a total of 100 graduands will be awarded First Class honours degrees, 1,843 Second Class Upper, 4,607 Third Class while only one person will bag a degree in Aegrotat.
Others are 188 diploma awards, 2 certificates awards, 527 unclassified graduands, 152 Post Graduate Diploma, PGD, 1,120 Masters Degree and 102 Doctorate Degrees.
He also disclosed that the convocation lecture will be delivered by the immediate past Minister of Power, Prof.Chinedu Nebo while the Founder’s Day lecture will be delivered by an alumni of the university and immediate past Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr Solomon Arase.
