Awka—SECOND Republic Vice President, Dr Alex Ekwueme, said yesterday, that Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would take over the governorship of Anambra State from the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in November, arguing that the party would no longer allow APGA to retain power in the state.
Ekwueme, who spoke when the governorship candidate of PDP, Mr. Oseloka Obaze, and his running mate, Mrs Chidi Onyemelukwe, who is his daughter, visited him, said Anambra had always been a PDP state and would, therefore, take back what rightly belongs to it during the November 18 governorship election.
Also speaking, former Governor Peter Obi said it was inevitable that Anambra should go to the PDP so that the state could not longer be left out when major political parties meet at the national level.
Obaze, who said he would do only one tenure, promised to offer free education from nursery to junior secondary schools, if elected.
